This category is not a race, but more of a challenge for the participants to manage their batteries well during the event. Participants will need to group themselves, provided that no group or participant will go ahead of the designated spearhead for this category. The route will not entail deep river crossing, however, there will be narrow tributaries to be crossed ergo expect water splashes. There will be a charging station in a pre-determined location which will be located enroute back to the finish (no charging before the turn-around is allowed).
Under Bike Restrictions
For the 50Km E-Bike Group Adventure Challenge Category, PEDALEC or bikes that will activate the motor once pedaled are allowed (throttle are also allowed provided bikes should also have the PEDALEC option). Hub drive or mid-drive bikes are allowed. No e-bikes shall exceed the speed limit of 40 kph during the event since the track is shared with analog bikes. The tires’ front and rear minimum is 2.40. No rigid forks for e-bikes are allowed, hard tail to full-suspension bike only. E-bikes that have derestriction or were de-restricted are allowed to join provided they shall observe the group maximum speed set by the group spearhead and shall not be allowed to overtake the lead. Rated motor power shall be from 250w to 1,000w only. E-bikes beyond 1000w are not allowed. Battery capacity should be at least 400wH. Participants should bring their charger.
Charging Station
Only one charging station will be set up. Charging will be done only AFTER the turn-around. The location of the charging station will be announced days before the event. Charing will be on a first come first served basis.
Mechanics:
The E-bike Group Adventure Challenge will be released as one group. All participants under this category need to ride the track as a group led by a lead marshal until Km 25. If you’re riding alone, no problem you’ll be part of the whole group until the turn around point (25 km). As soon as you get your wrist band in the turn around, all participants may individually ride on their own from Km 25 all the way to the finish line (Km 50).
Charging station will be stationed in Km 35. Those who wish to re-charge may turn over their chargers ( properly marked ) to the Charging Marshal between 5:30am to 6:00am Aug 24 at the starting line.
