Event Details

a. Timed obstacle course race

b. Public event and 1st Qualifying event for 2024 POSF Ninja, Youth and Para-Athletes National Teams

c. Categories

1. Elite Male and Female

2. Age-Groups Male and Female: 16-17, 18-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50 & above

3. Young Ninja Boys and Girls: 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15

4. Para-Athletes: P1, P2-P4 and P5

d. Head-to-Head (i.e., 2 athletes and 2 teams at the same time for team relay)

e. Fastest Time/ Fastest Athlete Wins

1. Best of 2 attempts/ runs for Individual and Team Relay category (i.e., not the average) for the Elimination and Championship rounds

2. For the individual category, in the Elimination Round, an athlete may choose only to run 1x, either on 1st or 2nd round. In the Finals, athletes must run twice.

f. Top 5 male and female in the Elimination Round shall advance to the Championship Round.

g. If there less than 5 athletes per category/ age-group, there will be no Championship Round. The Elimination Round shall be the final round.

h. There will be no Qualifying rounds for Para- Athletes Category; Top 3 athletes with the fastest time after 2 runs will be declared the winners.

i. There will be no qualifying rounds for the relay category. After 2 attempts/runs, the top 3 All Male and All Female Teams with the fastest times will be declared winners.

j. Championship Round Ranking shall be based on Best of 2 runs for both individual and Team Relay Category.

k. Number of Attempts per obstacle:

1. Elimination Round: As many times as needed.

2. Final Run: All runs must be clean.

l. Course Time limit is 120 seconds for Individual category and 150 seconds for Relay category

Course and Obstacles


a. The course is a linear 100 meter OCR track consisting of a start line, 12 obstacles and a finish line.

b. The course will have 2 lanes being no less than 3.0 m wide.

General Conduct

a. Practice fair play/ good sportspersonship at all times.

b. Adhere to the intent of a rule when the exact wording of the rule may be interpreted in various ways.

c. Be responsible for their own safety and the safety of others.

d. Know, understand and follow the Rules, available from POSF and on www.worldobstacle.org.

e. Obey instructions from race officials.

f. Treat other athletes, officials, volunteers, media, sponsors and spectators with respect and courtesy.

g. Not use abusive, derogatory or inflammatory language.

h. Inform a Technical Official immediately after withdrawing from the race. In case the athletes fail to do this before the end of the event, it may result a suspension.

i. Compete without receiving assistance other than from event personnel and officials.

j. Refrain from ambush marketing.

k. Not dispose litter or equipment around the course except at clearly identified places. All items must be kept with the athlete and disposed of appropriately at the end of the race

General Rules

a. Completion of all obstacles is mandatory.

b. Dress appropriately, Run with a covered torso.

c. Run with shoes. Bare feet are prohibited on any part of the course.

d. An athlete failing an obstacle may attempt the obstacle as many times as possible within their prescribed time limit. An Athlete who fails/ falls from/ does not complete an obstacle must restart (exits the obstacle and redo the obstacle from the starting platform)

e. An athlete or team who fails to complete the course within the time limit must immediately leave the course.

f. Athletes finishing with the same time (measured to 1/100th [0.01] of a second) shall be awarded a tie.

g. An athlete will be judged as “finished” when the athlete activates the buzzer on top of the 12th/ last Obstacle (i.e., Wave Wall).

h. Official time is stopwatch time (not display clock)

i. Athletes may use gloves or tapes and/ or bring a chalk pouch/ bag. These items must be kept with by the athlete all throughout the race and disposed of appropriately at the end of the race.

j. Athletes can only go inside the course when racing and when called.

k. Coaches, relatives and non-participants are not allowed inside the course.

l. Failure to comply with the Rules may result in an athlete being verbally warned, subject to disqualification, suspension, or expulsion.

m. The nature of the rule violation will determine the subsequent penalty.

n. A suspension or an expulsion will occur for very serious violations of either this Rules or World Obstacle Anti-Doping Rules.

o. An athlete may be issued a verbal warning or disqualified for failing to abide by the Rules.

p. The Technical Officials are allowed to assess penalties, even if the infringement is not listed, if the Technical Official deems an unfair advantage has been gained, or if a dangerous situation has been created.


Protests

1. Protests may only be filed by participants who directly observed the subject of the protest, who was directly and personally, involved in any incident relevant to the protest, and who possess direct, detailed, and personal knowledge of the subject of the protest.

2. With respect to each protest filed, the Head Referee shall make an initial determination as to whether the protest complies with all of the provisions of the Article and whether the protest is factually sufficient to support a ruling by the Protest Committee. If the protest is improper or deficient in any respect, the Head Referee shall summarily reject and dismiss the protest and shall not be required to submit the matter to the Protest Committee.

3. The Protest Committee shall be comprised of the Head Referee and two Judges appointed by the Head Referee. The Head Referee shall serve as chairperson of the Protest Committee and shall have full authority to conduct the protest and maintain order. The Protest Committee will issue a final determination with respect to all protests timely filed and not subject to summary dismissal.

4. A protester must verbally notify finish line staff within 5 minutes of crossing the finish line.

5. All protests must be filed in writing and submitted to the Head Referee within 30 minutes after the person filing the protest has crossed the finish line.

6. The Protest Committee shall hear the matter, review the evidence and render a prompt decision. The decision will be posted immediately.

7. The summary dismissal of a protest by the Head Referee or the decision of a Protest Committee shall be final, and official race results shall reflect those determinations. Official results and the determination of any Head Referee or Protest Committee can be subsequently modified only by the POSF Executive Committee pursuant to an appeal.


Penalties

a. Penalties will be determined by the severity of the infraction. The

minimum penalty will always be 10 minutes. The maximum penalty will be disqualification from the results of the event and/or a loss of prize money.

b. A disqualification is a penalty appropriate for severe rule violations, such as but not limited to, interference with other athletes, dangerous or unsportsmanlike conduct or failure to assist an athlete in distress.
