Race Parameters

Gravel discipline is a form of cycling that combines elements of both road and mountain-bike disciplines and consists mostly of distance riding over unpaved roads. The minimum distance of a Gravel Race is at 50KM.

Gravel events are competitive mass-participation events with a mass-start (or in waves with intervals between the start groups) fully timed for all participants and split results per age group and gender. 

  • Age Categories: (minimum of 20 participants per category. If the category does not reach minimum, they will be merged with the next category.)

Rules and Regulations

1. Bike Specifications:

  • Any style of bike shall be permitted except e-bikes, road bikes, tandem or recumbent bikes, and time trial road bikes.
  • Handle bars can be of any shape but must be of a one-piece construction with no bar-ends or clip on extensions allowed (triathlon handlebars and any other handlebar extension systems are not allowed) 
  • Tire width should be 33C up but not exceeding 

2. Wearing a bike helmet is mandatory. No helmet, no ride.

3. Only race zip-type jerseys are allowed. No polo jersey.

4. This is a single day event with a 50KM distance for all categories.

5. The event is a point-to-point race with the same start and finish area.

6. Only registered riders are allowed in the race course. Non-participants shall be reminded and removed by organizers, marshals, and race officials.

7. Participants are expected to demonstrate sportsmanship and proper behavior.

8. Participants must behave in a manner that shows respect to the environment. Trash should be deposited at designated bins at the feed zone areas.

9.  It is the responsibility of each rider to ensure before joining and starting that he is in perfect health and capable of the physical effort required in the event he/she has registered for..

10. All riders should bring their own tools and spare tire or tubular to the race. Tools are also available at the Feed Zone. 

11. Only official feeder will be allowed at the feed zone. Please collect your feed zone ID during the team managers meeting.

12. Winners should wear their jersey and bike shoes; and be present during the awarding ceremony.

13. All race kits must be claimed on claiming day.
