The ORGANIZER. The  Engineers Without Borders - Philippines (EWB)  launched the "LumBakawan"  to raise funds to support the Deployment Phase of Mangrove Conservation Project. Mangrove Conservation Project.  This  is a year-long initiative for EWB.   The project aims to highlight the importance of the mangroves and take sustainable actions to restore and preserve the country’s remaining mangrove species.

“LumBakawan” comes from the word “Lumba” which means race and “Bakawan” meaning mangrove. Donate P250 to run and bike for a cause.  You may join any of the following categories:

Your donation will give you access to the RaceYa portal to run/bike with other supporters of the Lumbakawan project through a live leaderbaord.  You can finish your target distance in single or multiple run or bike from the period of September 24-October 10.  The more categories you join, the more help you can give for Lumbakawan.  

All proceeds of this activity will go to the expenses that the EWB-PH will need to incur like in-kind compensation to the local community, purchasing of mangrove seeds, and train the locals how to plant it.
