Posted at April 28, 2022

Triathlon has grown big in the Philippines with a full Ironman distance being staged in the country for the second consecutive year in 2020 attracting thousands of athletes hoping to hear that magic word at the finish line, “ You are an Ironman.”   Then the pandemic happened.

With the certainty of when the event is finally going to happen, several cycles of training blocks and preparations going full block then race being postponed again and again and again – how do you still pursue your Ironman dream?

In this episode, we will talk to three triathletes: Luigi, Dennis and Rafi more known as The Next Week Tri – three guys who persevered in training; battling not only the physical strain of the preparation but the mental and emotional strain of the challenges preparing even during strict lockdowns.

In March 2022, the spirit of triathlon went on full display, in their 226 kilometer journey in the water, on the bike and on foot armed with positive thinking as they compete against their rivals while at the same time motivating each other.

We hope you get some inspiration from three stories from The Next Week Tri – we surely did during this hour long conversation.
