Getting Back to Being Race Fit

Posted at May 31, 2022

During the past couple of years, people have maximized the use of the internet to transition almost everything virtually. We did virtual meetings, workout sessions, and even virtual races.

This year, the pandemic restrictions have started to ease up. This led to races and sports events making a comeback. In fact, a lot of sports events have already happened and we are still in the first half of 2022.

For Race Ya, there are a dozen racing events happening monthly on average - from road and trail running, obstacle course racing, triathlon, swimming, and other multisports events.

Are you planning to register for one? Or have you already registered for one?

Because of the restrictions brought about by the pandemic and the lack of in-person events to prepare for, a lot of us have been training less. So now that races and sports events are happening, how do we go back into the habit of training regularly?

In the latest episode of the Race Ya Podcast, we chatted with Brooks athlete and representatives, Dean Cunanan and Miguel Aldeguer. They shared how they prepared for their 10k and 21k events, respectively, happening this coming June.

One of the best ways to get back into training is by joining a virtual event like the Brooks Global Running Day 2022. Virtual races are great venues to help you make a comeback and condition your body to get back into being race-fit.

This event is being held to celebrate running. You can register in any of the distances: 3k, 5k, 10k, and 21k, and run from June 1-30, 2022.

You can run in your comfortable pace to ease back into running, or you can run your fastest 3k, 5k, 10k, or 21k. The most important thing is to celebrate running and have fun while doing it. Registration is FREE. And you might just win yourself a pair of Brooks Running Shoes.
